Stop Talking, Start Praying

In times of differing opinions and leadership challenges, we are reminded of the importance of prayer. Regardless of how we feel about those in authority, the Bible calls us to pray for them. Let us trust in God’s will and seek His mercy and blessings upon our nation. While we may agree to disagree, let us also remember to speak up when the time comes, but in the meantime, if we can't take action in the natural, let us take action in the supernatural.

Examples from the Bible of praying for those in authority or holding positions of authority

“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for everyone for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together-Colossians 1:16-17 NIV

“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”

Majority of us that know the power of intercession and have a burning passion to intercede during times of prayer. We may hear or see something that places a burden upon our hearts to pray for. someone may say something like "the Holy Spirit is leading me to.

It is often sudden and they probably weren't even thinking about this until the holy spirit revealed it. but there's a reason and here are the two different meanings of what it could be.

Intercession is

the act of intervening or praying on behalf of another person, acting as a mediator to plead their case or needs before God. Biblically, it involves "standing in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30), often with urgency, to pray for God’s will, mercy, or protection to be realized in someone's life. 

Prophetic intercession is

a Spirit-led, Revelatory form of prayer where believers partner with God to declare His will on earth, acting as watchmen who "stand in the gap". It involves receiving God’s burden or specific insights through the Holy Spirit to pray with authority, moving beyond personal petition to, instead, praying for the manifestation of divine,heavenly purposes. It mirrors the role of a prophet who hears from God and an intercessor who mediates. Examples include Isaiah 62:6-7 (watchmen never silent), or Jesus’s ongoing intercession (Hebrews 7:25).

Those who are close to me know my heart behind this statement. It is not harsh, but it is necessary: this is not the time to argue about sides or positions. This is the time to shut up before God and pray. 😅🙏🏽👋💙
