You Think it, You Reflect it.

Several times my thoughts affected how I looked in the mirror.

Beause:

I did not achieve all my goals in one day. Oh, I was focused on my life problems and not enough on the Creator of the world, who is God.

Another reason is that I was comparing myself to others and instead of reminding myself that

I was created in the image of God based on the verse from Genesis 1:27, I had to remind myself of the word: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Philippians 4:13.

When you look at yourself with negative thoughts, you are telling the KING OF KINGS that He made a mistake with you.

One of the examples we sometimes tell ourselves is:

“I don’t have blonde hair like so-and-so or I want straight hair like so-and-so.
I’m not as slim as Sister Flor. Since I’m not as slim as Sister Flor, I must be ugly.
”

Who told you that you're ugly or less than anyone else?
Could it be upbringing or culture?

Well, for me, it was both the culture and my upbringing because in this world,

I have paralysis. I can't be overweight because it affects how I move or do things.
There were stages in my life when I was slim and strong, and even then, the enemy attacked me with thoughts that I was still not pretty, but for culture and loved ones, I reached the goal of being slim, right?

It took years through the word of God to change my thoughts and heal those wounds from upbringing and culture so that I could finally see myself as God sees me.

Of course, I will reach my goal again of exercising and being healthy with the right motives and intentions.

I started this period of inner healing when I was 30 or 31 years old. If I don’t love myself the way God loves me, I will never be happy, and comparison kills the blessing of another day of life and kills joy.I don’t know about you, but I don’t want the enemy to keep winning when I have so much ahead of me.

I know that God brought me into this world to fulfill a purpose, not only the promise that He will heal me and that I will walk without crutches.

I took some inner healing classes through the church.
I read a book called "Soul Care" by Rob Reimer.

Last month, I went to a retreat called "The Established In His Presence" through the ministry of Christ Transformation Core Revival Hub. Just to mention a few of the resources.

I've taken and invested time, with the help of the Lord in me, because if you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will. You also have to do your part.

An important key:

Continue building that relationship with God by seeking Him, being in His presence, knowing the word, and believing it. You can read the word, but if you don’t believe it, how will it work in your life?

Faith as small as a mustard seed; we Latinos always sing that if we had faith like a mustard seed, we could tell that mountain to move, move!!!

Here are a few verses that helped me change my perspective to see myself beautifully as God sees me:

1 Peter 2:9

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

Isaiah 43:4
-

4 For you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you. I will give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.

Song of Solomon 4:7
-

7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you!

Psalm 139:13-17
New Living Translation

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!

Isaiah 62:2-5
New International Version
The new name of Zion

The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

3 You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4 No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married. 5

As a young man marries a young woman, so will your builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

I hope you feel encouraged to seek God.
Fast. Read the word for yourself.
Create that relationship with God to heal in these wounded areas.

Think with God’s thoughts. Look in the mirror and smile because you are a daughter of the King of Kings!!!
